WHO’S A PEPPER!

If you’re not one already, the Free Enterprise Institute, located on the third floor of the Dr. Pepper Museum, hopes to make you one! Based on W. W. “Foots” Clements’ enthusiasm for the “free enterprise economic system”, the Institute uses the soft drink industry as an example to teach school-age children the principals of an economic system defined as “the freedom of individuals and businesses to operate and compete with a minimum of government interference or regulation”. Clements was one of the Dr. Pepper Company’s most influential leaders and the Institute uses interactive exhibits to promote his cause. Want to bypass the lesson in Dr. Pepper economics and just have some fun? Learn all about Dr. Pepper including how it got its name, where it got its start, and view a selection of over 100,000 items of Dr. Pepper memorabilia in exhibits on the first two floors of the museum. You can also shop for unique “I’m A Pepper” items in the museum’s gift store like Dr. Pepper LipSmacker, waxy lip balm flavored with Dr. Pepper, and an “I’m a Pepper” Frisbee (even though it doesn’t taste like Dr. Pepper your Frisbee-catching dog will love it anyway!).
